Queanbeyan Senior Citizens Association (Senior Citizens) expects all members to act lawfully, honestly, ethically and with integrity at all times. Members are accountable for their own actions in accordance with legislation, Senior Citizens Constitution and all other applicable laws and standards.
I will:
Treat everyone with respect, courtesy and sensitivity, taking into account people’s individual experiences and views.
Strive to build a harmonious environment based on values in action.
Always act in an inclusive and non-discriminatory manner towards all persons.
Act with honesty and integrity and make decisions that are fair and equitable.
Apply our skills, knowledge and experience with due diligence and care.
Follow all lawful and reasonable directions.
Uphold the organisation’s constitution, objectives and values.
Comply with all relevant legislation, standards and other compliance mechanisms.
Refrain from providing false or misleading information in relation to the organisation members
Be accountable for our own actions.
Not disclose private and confidential conversations to third parties
Every member of the Queanbeyan Senior Citizen’s has the right to be treated respectfully. Therefore, any member who disrespects another by:
Shouting or speaking in a hostile voice/manner
Making demeaning or intimidating comments
Using offensive language
Denigrating, threatening or personally vilifying (i.e. making statements that attack someone based on their race, gender or sexual orientation)
Refusing to engage in a conservation in a calm and collected manner
Shall be given three warnings.
The first warning may be verbal or written and can be given by the President with the support of witnesses at the altercation. The second and third interventions must itemise the infringement with mention of the previous warning/s, to be given by the President with witness as before, and inform the member their membership will be cancelled (with no reimbursement) and they are not to attend any of the Association’s activities.
